The Serrania de Ronda is based in the heart of Andalucia and is, in my completely biased opinion, the perfect location for your road cycling holiday. You can discover this entire region, biking through scenic back roads lined with olive groves, riding along stunning lakeside routes, through forests of cork trees or on some challenging mountain climbs passing many ‘Pueblos Balncos’ (White Villages) which are synonymous with this area.
This beautiful and dry region is a paradise for all cyclists, from beginners to well trained mountain goats. When other parts of Europe are enduring harsh autumn-winter weather conditions you can still ride perfectly in sunny Andalucia. In general the other road users will give you great respect which can come as a pleasant surprise, on most days you see more cyclists than cars!
The excellent climate in Andalucia makes this region a great place to either extend your season riding through November and December or to kick start your season early in January or February. Whilst other cyclists are on their turbo trainers and Watt Bikes there is still the opportunity to get some quality miles outdoors here in southern Spain.
