Always remember that we want you to get the most out of road cycling holiday with us so all routes can be extended, most routes can also be cut short too…..all you need to do is ask your guide! The only thing we can’t do is make the rides flatter!!!

We always tailor the rides to suit your ability and fitness level but at the same time we want you, the rider, to experience the best road cycling routes you have ever ridden. This usually means a bit of effort on the climb although this is more than made up for on the exhilarating descents that follow. Depending on your fitness and requirements we are able to customise your road cycling holiday to meet your requirements. Choose from routes varying in length from 50 – 160km that have anything from 1000-3000 metres of climbing.

Where there’s an up, there’s always a down! The schedule below is not set in stone. There are numerous routes to choose from and we are always happy to make the rides shorter or longer to suit your training, ride, holiday requirements.

Fly to Malaga Airport. Transfer to Ronda.

We start the week with a ride to Setenil de la Bodegas which was once a thriving economic centre on the ‘Travellers route’ between Sevilla and Ronda this picturesque white village is now famous for its cave houses and olive oil. Here we stop for refreshments at, in my opinion, one of the best tapas bars in this area which is set beneath the overhanging rock face inside a cave. After the pit stop you can choose from either a 30k or 40k ride back to Ronda. The route then takes us along side the Ruta de Bandaleros (Bandits Route) and below the Roman Ampitheatre at Ronda la Vieja. We then descent 7km into the valley below Ronda before our last climb of the day brings us back up to the beautiful historic town of Ronda

Ride distance
  • 50k – 80k Elevation gain 1200-1500m
  • Please note we are always happy to extend any of our rides

Today we head into the Sierra las Nieves National Park, we head out to Canate de Real and Serrato, we take on the climb the guides have nick named the ’12 f**kers’ before a fast  descent into El Burgo. A pit stop for lunch before a 13km climb up to the Puerto El Viento. We finish the day with an 11km descent into Ronda . The scenery on this ride is absolutely breathtaking with different, diverse and dramatic views on every turn.

Ride Distance
  • 75-100km Elevation gain 1400-1950m
  • Please note we are always happy to extend any of our ride

We take on ‘The Beast’ a 15k Cat 1 climb. We head out along the cork tree forest towards Grazalema and then onto El Bosque the village at the foot of the climb we named ‘The Beast’ After this climb we descend into Grazalema, another stunningly beautiful ‘pueblo blanco’ (white village) for well deserved ‘Coffee & Cakes’. After Grazalema we ride back to Ronda. If you don’t want such a big day then we are happy to organise an alternative route for today.

Ride Distance
  • 105-125k Elevation gain 2000-2400m
  • Please note we are always happy to extend any of our rides

A rest day gives you the chance to discover the historic old town of Ronda which is famous for it’s Gorge, the Bullring, the Arabic baths, city walls and many museums. Or time for some retail therapy and an opportunity to indulge, and why not after all the riding.

Alternatively, you can pick up a route card and go out for a ride without your guide.

We can also organise a Sports Massage

Deep in the mountains to the south of Ronda is ‘Pueblo Pitufo’ aka Smurftown. An epic day riding to this quirky mountain village that has been painted Smurf blue! Definitely a day for your climbing legs, which is why it’s immediately after your ‘rest day’! The high light of any cycling holiday has to be the opportunity to get your picture taken with Papa Smurf !  On a clear day we can see the Altlas mountains in Africa on this ride.

Ride Distance
  • 50-100k Elevation gain 1200-2000m
  • Please note we are always happy to extend any of our rides

Our final ride is up Las Palomas a 12.5k Cat 1 climb. Go flat out or take your time and enjoy the stunning views around every turn on this classic climb. After this climb we descend into Grazalema, for refreshments’. After Grazalema we ride back to Ronda.

Ride Distance
  • 90k Elevation gain 1700m
  • Please note we are always happy to extend any of our rides

We completed the White Villages Tour. It was a fantastic experience. We hired bikes from ACE and Ashley planned a wonderful tour around the white villages with stays in the villages each night. Every route detail was well documented and organised and we felt very supported throughout. The hotels were great. The routes allowed us fabulous views with very little traffic and we were able to relax, enjoy the scenery and explore. Highly recommend.

Fabulous self guided week long trip from Ronda around the Pueblos Blancos of Andalusia. Great routes and fabulous hotels all organised by Andalusian Cycling Experience. The bikes they provided were too quality and well maintained - no issues. Ashley and the team arranged for a modification to one bike for us at our request and came up trumps. Highly recommended and we will be back to ride the area using them again

From the moment we met Ashley to pick up our bikes for the weeks self guided tour I felt we we in safe hands. The week was magnificent. Glorious cycling on quiet and quality road surfaces through fantastic scenery. Great accommodation with more amenities than I was expecting, like swimming pools for several evenings. The process of our bags being transport hotel to hotel all worked very smoothly. The week has certainly sown seeds for a return visit. Thanks very much to the team.

Custom Mtn bike tour of trails close to Ronda with a mix of small town village riding and out in the mountains trail riding. Ashley, the owner, set us up on good working bikes and proved to be a world class photographer! He incorporated Sentinel into the mix so I could see the famous village and the singletrack in El Burgo was a good challenge of technical and downhill adventure. Highly recommend for a bike holiday. Ronda is an amazing base with many off riding things to do. Very happening with lots of hikes, restaurants and churches to explore.

We had a great experience with Andalucian Cycling. They were flexible and accommodating when we were delayed in arriving at our rental property and were very attentive to our needs. The bikes were brand new (or at least seemed to be!) and performed very well on the varied terrain in and around Ronda. Ashley provided everything we needed (helmets, locks, water bottles). We will certainly book with Andalucian Cycling Experience when we return to Ronda!

We had a wonderful day cycling in and around Ronda. Ashley is incredibly approachable and knowledgeable about the local area, and gave us some excellent recommendations on a scorching hot day that were perfectly suited to me and my two children. The bikes Ashley hired out were simply the best quality we’ve ever seen from a hire shop and, quite frankly, among the best bikes I’ve ever ridden. I was dreaming about my Wilier full-carbon frame for days afterwards! For my daughter, it was the first time she had ridden a road bike with gear shifting on the hoods. Ashley kindly spent several minutes explaining everything clearly and calmly, and after a kilometre or two she had completely got the hang of it. We’ll hopefully be back next year to tackle the Via Verde de la Sierra. Thanks again, Ashley, and see you then, buddy! 😉

I was so lucky to come across Ashley’s bike hire & cycle experience business in Ronda after another cycle company let me down at short notice. Ashley got back to me by email immediately - I needed 4 road bikes including an electric... no problem! He even provided recommended routes taking into consideration different fitness levels, he was so helpful. In addition his wife runs a cakery business - it was my husbands 60th - so surprise homemade pavlova birthday cake sorted too! It was delicious! So yes I definitely give Andalucian cycle experience maximum stars 🤩

I spent five days on a road cycling tour in Ronda. The routes were very varied, and my guide, Drew, always adapted each ride to my needs. Thank you very much!
