Food & Drink

The villa and townhouse accommodation is situated in the heart of Montecorto, so guests may choose to either self-cater, using the nearby shops, or eat in the bars of Montecorto, the surrounding villages or Ronda. We will be happy to advise on restaurants.

If you are staying at the Farmhouse a buffet breakfast is included in the price. Three course evening meals can be arranged at the Farmhouse for approximately 25 euro per adult, childrens menu starts from 6 euros, alternatively, we will be happy to advise on restaurants in Ronda and the surrounding villages.

On most rides we will stop at a village bar or 'venta' (Country Inn) for food.
Vegetarian Cycling and Special Dietary Requirements

Nikki, our vegetarian and vegan chef, spent many years in the UK running her own veggie restaurant, she can also cook other specialist dietary foods such as Gluten Free. Nikki has put together a great selection of tapa's and a 3 course dinner menu. All the food is delivered directly to your accommodation and can be pre-ordered before you arrive in Montecorto for your cycling holiday. Sample Vegetarian and Vegan menus

Bringing Your Own Bike

Most clients prefer to bring their own bike, which is quite easy to organise. Obtain a cardboard box from your local bike dealer, then simply deflate the tyres, lower the saddle, turn the handle bars and pedals in and use pipe insulation to protect the frame. Alternatively, use a bike bag or bike box.

It is advisable to check with your airline or travel agent, as carriers have different rules about transporting boxed bikes. Some allow you to book your bike on in advance, normally for a fee, others carry bikes for free, but may not have space on the day

Fitness Level

You should be used to regular aerobic exercise and have a moderate level of fitness.  The rides are designed to vary from easy to difficult and are within the capabilities of some-one who exercises regularily

What to Bring

For your own comfort we recommend you bring 2-3 pairs of cycling shorts and as previously mentioned a Camelback for carrying those extra water supplies. For most of the year you will also need sunglasses, sun protection cream, aftersun lotion and a cotton scarf to protect the back of your neck from the sun. If you are prone to sun burn, then long sleeve t-shirts and full gloves will offer additional protection. Come during our Winter months, a rainproof jacket may be required. Finally don't forget your cycling helmet!!

For Those People Whose Partners Do Not Ride

For those cyclists who have partners, friends or relations who do not want to join all or any of the rides (or just fancy a day out of the saddle) this area has much to offer. Within 90 minutes there is sightsee-ing, taking in the historic and architecture of Sevilla, Jerez de la Frontera or sunbathing on the beaches of the Costa del Sol. there is Ronda to wonder around and the many 'pueblos blancos' to explore. For the more active, there are good walks in the Sierra de Grazalema National Park, Cueva de Pilates to visit, the Ancient Roman Ampitheatre to see, all very close to your accommodation There are plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind, take in some culture or simply indulge in some retail therapy. There is local shopping for regional specialities in Ronda and environs or a more cosmopolitan retail scene in nearby cities. Please enquire when booking.

The new card is now issued on an individual, as opposed to a family basis but you can order cards for your family members.

The application form for the new card is available from the post office or can be downloaded via the following link:
