Time Trial on Puerto de Las Palomas
Well the Winter Training Campsfor 2011 have come to an end and we are already planning for the 2012 season. We have some great memories from the riders that came over and some great times set on our Las Palomas TT! Well done to each and everyone of you. We have also had numerous e-mails from clients who have returned home, after their weeks training with us, and set a PB on their weekly ride, a Time Trail or have simply been faster than ever before.

La Sufrida de Ronda 2011
Finally, after 6 years, I took a Saturday off and participated in one the major local cycling sportives on Saturday 30th April. La Sufrida de Ronda 2011, 193km with 4250m of climbing including a Time Trial up Las Palomas 50k into the route. I arrived in Arriate an hour before the start to collect my number, timing chip and to prepare myself for the day ahead. Sat in the van the rain was coming down by the bucket full and my enthusiasm for the event and the thought of potentially riding in the wet for 7 or 8 hours was beginning to get the better of me. Finally a chink of blue sky the rain eased and I was out of the van kitted up and off to the start line, waiting for what seemed like hours for the start.
Cycling Vacations and Tours in Andalucia
March has been a fabulous month here in Montecorto with everybody at the Andalucian Cycling Experience working hard to ensure that you all have the perfect cycling holiday in southern Spain.
Every week there has been a Winter/Spring Training Camp with some very impressive times being posted on the Friday Time Trial on Las Palomas, below are the Top 10 times. How do you think you would do? Come over and see if you can break into the top 10 riders this year. I'm struggling to keep my place on that list, even though I have set a new PB this year!! If you come over for the weekend of June 26th you can ride in the 'Club Ciclista Rondeno' Club Time Trial on Las Palomas and you can see how you fair against the local riders!
Epic week of Mountain biking Madness!
Last week we hit the tracks and trails of the Grazalema Natural Park, the Serrania de Ronda and the Seirra de Nieves. It was great to get off the road bike and hit the dirt for a week and to be reminded of how stunningly beautiful the landscape is here and of the peace and serenity you can only discover on two wheels off the beaten track. During a week of unbroken sunshine with clear blue skies, dotted with the occassional fluffy white cloud, we rode some of the best single track trails the Andalucia has to offer. Our pit stops involved visiting some of my favourite tapas bars in the area, it's essential to keep the body fuelled for the all the riding, well that's me excuse anyway! Back on the bike we worked on developing our guests bike handling skills with plenty of games and techniques on the bike to improve balance, body positioning, braking and cornering. Matt is now the wheelie king of Montecorto!!
Passionate about Pedalling! Mad about Mountains! Bonkers about Bikes!
Six weeks into the New Year and its pretty much been glorious sunshine all the way. Whilst Anna has been busy leisure cycling and family riding, James and myself (and now Jez and Vanessa) have been putting in the kilometres on our road bikes. I have also managed to get a few days mountain biking and have discovered some great new tracks and trails in and around the Grazalema Natural Park.

Autumn Cycling Holidays in Spain
Well what a month September turned out to be! Packed with great riding, great people and great weather. We've been out mountain biking, ran a white village tour, had several groups of leisure riders and last but no means least we've also had a great couple of weeks on our
road bikes. The summer temperatures have faded away and as the temperatures have fallen my average ride speed has increased, with my best ride for a long time last week 136km at and average of 29.5kmph and 1700m of climbing.
