What have we been doing?

May has been our best month ever and 2009 our best year ever too. Both Claire and I have been pedalling our socks off last month with several families on cycling holidays, a road cycling training camp, four groups of leisure cyclists, we also ran our White Villages of Andalucia Tour and last but no means least I've been mountain biking too. The weather has been perfect with temperatures averaging between 22-28 degrees and blue skies all the way.

We have a few days off now to recouperate before it all starts again on Saturday with a week of road cycling. We still have availability in June, so if you are looking for a last minute get away send us an email and book your flights.

Here is what some of our recent guests have said about their holiday in Montecorto

Wide Open Road SpainTerry and Yvonne from Australia said, 'We have thoroughly enjoyed our week of Andalucian Cycling Experience. Claire and Ashley are a delightful young couple who go out of their way to cater for their guests needs and various cycling abilities. Montecorto is ideally situated in beautiful countryside and a comfortable ride to a number of interesting white villages. The pace has been leisurely with time, for coffees, to explore the villages and try the local tapas. Our accommodation in a townhouse was spacious and we appreciated coming back to the same place every night. thanks for a great week'.

Finn (Aged 11) from Haverfordwest, said,' The best holiday ever' and Caitlin (Aged 13) said 'This holiday has made me a stronger, fitter more confident triathlete'

Anna and Sher from Cheltenham said 'Stunning scenery, friendly hosts and enough of a challenge physically to make us feel like we'd really achieved something each day. We will be reccommending you to friends and family. Many thanks Claire and Ashley. See you again'.

Susie, Staszek and family from Poland said 'Thank you for a wonderful holiday, it was everything we wished for. We especially appreciated the flexible itinerary, Claire's patience and the van support for the youngest cyclists'

David from London said 'I loved my first Andalucian Cycling Experience holiday and returned with 3 mates for an even better week, the cycling is the right balance between challenging and rewarding. Ashley and Claire are great hosts. We will be back'

Ollie from Watford said 'An immensely pleasurable, action packed, holiday'

Richard from Bushey said 'Great cycling, great food, great beer! Exactly what a holiday should be'.

Sandy & Charlotte from Vancuver Island said 'Excellent guides, great hosts who made our first visit to Spain so memorable.... And the cycling was fantastic too'!

Invitation to all Cyclists

Puerto Las PalomasSunday 4th October 2009 is the second Andalucian Cycling Experience Las Palomas Challenge. Last October I decided to see how many times in one day I could ride the local Category 1 climb of Puerto de Las Palomas. I decided to ride a 40km loop with the afore mentioned climb smack in the middle of my route, each lap had approximately 1000 metres of climbing. Having discussed this with the local Rondeño Cycling Club I discovered that only a few members had ever ridden it twice in one day, last year I rode up Las Palomas 4 times in just under 8 hours having completed 160km and almost 4000 metres of climbing.

This year I'm aiming higher.....will it be 5 or 6 laps.....only time will tell.

If anybody wants to join me for the whole event or just to ride around once or twice, it would be great to have your company on the day, in fact why not make a weekend of it.

In May we didn't lose a single days riding due to bad weather, in fact it's been blue skies and sunshine every day!

As ever happy pedalling and we hope to see you all soon.

Best Wishes

Ashley & Claire
