Happy New Year! As the whole of Europe and indeed most of the rest of the World seems to be suffering from adverse weather conditions, January tends to be the month when we turn our attentions to planning our holidays for the coming year. Claire and I are no exception, 2010 takes me into another decade and I'm planning a variety of events to mark the big 4-0!! I know....I don't look it.... life has been kind so far!! So, with this in mind I'll be entering the Ronda 101km MTB event and two weeks later the 202km road bike event this May! I'm also hoping to squeeze in a trip to the Manchester Velodrome to try my hand at track cycling on one of our return trips to the UK, but for me the highlight will be a trip to Moscow! A city and country that has fascinated me since my school days but as yet I have never been. Anyway enough of my ramblings, we also have a full calender of cycling in 2010. If anyone is interested in joining me on either the 101k MTB or 202k road events in May let me know as soon as possible as registration for these events will be within the next month or so.

The weather in December has been a right old mixed bag. The first two weeks we had beautiful sunshine and temperatures around 20 degrees, then my parents arrived for their Christmas holidays and they brought the English weather with them!! From the 16th December it rained, pretty much everyday! The locals say we had a years worth of rain in the 7 days before Christmas. We still managed to ride, virtually everyday that we had clients here, admittedly we got soaked on a couple of occassions and it felt like we were riding against the tide more than once, but a good time was had by all. The village elders are telling us that they haven't seen rain like we have had since 1949! As ever keep the wheels turning, enjoy your riding and be Passionate about Pedalling, Bonkers about Bikes and Mad about Mountains. Wish you were here, Best Wishes Ashley & Claire |
