MTB Biking Holidays Andalucia, southern Spain
Andalucia in Spain has built a solid reputation for having some of the world's best singletrack trails, technical down hills, free riding and cross-country mountain biking. Combine this with the wonderful climate for all year round mountain bike holidays and you will end up here, riding with the Andalucian Cycling Experience. Ride the trails and tracks of the Grazalema Natural Park, Serrania de Ronda and the Sierra de las Nieves, from epic cross country, mile after mile of testing single track, tough climbs, fast flowing downhills as well as some more gentle rides and you will see that we have the best mtb trails the world has to offer.
The terrain is well suited to going off road, from blasting down hill and excellent free riding to varied and testing terrain, but more importantly, quality single-track that may leave you breathless and at times worn out, but we hope, grinning from ear to ear at the end of the ride!
Whatever standard of mountain biker you are, Ashley who is a MTB instructor, will, upon request, take you through riding techniques to ensure that you will leave us a better rider than when you arrived on your Andalucian Cycling Experience mountain bike biking holiday.
The mountain bike riding is suitable for beginners and intermediate/advanced riders and is tailor made to suit your requirements.
Our intermediate/advanced mountain bike routes have mile after mile of fast, technical mountain biking on remote single tracks through the stunning countryside of Andalucia.
Our beginner mountain bike routes have mile after mile of mountain biking on trails and tracks between the beautiful 'Pueblos Blancos' (White Villages) of Andalucia.
We believe that we have created the perfect mountain bike biking holiday for enthusiastic riders of all abilities.
The Planes of Los Llanos
Another ride with everything to offer from open meadow, vehicle width dirt tracks, several river crossings and most importantly, some great single track. We ride through a beautiful cork tree forest before we make our first of many river crossings and onto the Planes of Los Llanos. Once across the Planes we take a fast flowing track which has several short steep rocky climbs. Pick your line, a low gear and get your legs pumping to the top!
The options on the length of this ride are endless.
Rating: Easy
Bandits Route
We follow the old 'Ruta del Bandoleros' through some spectacular countryside. A combination of single track, vehicle width dirt tracks, quiet country lanes and water crossings with two gut busting climbs but plenty of long open descents.
Rating: Easy/medium
Twin Peaks
An action packed ride with something for everyone, from vehicle width and single track riding to open meadows with the occasional river crossing. The climbs will leave you breathless, the descents grinning from ear to ear and the single tracks give you the adrenalin rush we all look for in a ride.
Rating: Medium
Travellers Route
A ride through undulating farmland on fast flowing vehicle width tracks with the occasional lung bursting, leg pumping climb for good measure. We pass the ancient roman ampi-theatre at Ronda le Vieja before returning to Montecorto via an exhilarating 5km descent.
Rating: Medium/Difficult
River Deep, Mountain High
This ride has everything from open meadow, single track, vehicle width dirt tracks, river crossings and some technical descents. There is a need to walk/carry the bike on a few occasions. The options on this ride are endless and for those looking for an easier return trip we can always catch the train home!
Rating: Medium/Difficult
Rio Genal
A rapid 10km descent to the bottom of the Genal valley where we cross the Genal river before an 11km leg and lung burner climb to the summit on a vehicle width track through a beautiful forest with breathtaking views of the valley below. Passing through Pujerra & Iqualeja before returning to Ronda via a 13km off road descent
Rating: Difficult
The Beast of El Bayor
Probably the most technical ride we have. The majority of this ride is single track with plenty of drop offs, raised obstacles, technical rocky descents/accents and a few tight twisting single track descents through woods. Guaranteed to leave you grinning from ear to ear and a touch tired!
This ride can be extended..should you have the energy!
Rating: Difficult
Beginners may get more from their mountain biking holiday by completing a bike handling skills course with UK Mountain Bike Instruction team. These skills may also be gained/refreshed whilst on your holiday as Ashley is a qualified MTB Instructor.
We always try to tailor rides to suit ability and fitness levels but at the same time want you the rider to experience the best trails you have ever ridden. This usually means a bit of effort in the climb although you can call upon the R.S.N van for help, should you need too.
Many of the trails have a remote feel and you are unlikely to see any other riders with things only getting busy whilst the local shepherd and his flock pass through.
